2017 Taiwan Indian Investment and Cooperation Promotion Delegation

The Department of Investment Services of the Ministry of Economic Affairs made the preparations for the “2017 Taiwan Indian Investment and Cooperation Promotion Delegation.” From September 6-13, 2017, Director-general Wang Chian-Ping led a delegation of officials from 24 Taiwanese companies to visit two Indian cities , New Delhi and Bangalore, to explore the local investment environments. They also met with central and local government representatives to discuss opportunities for cooperation and ways in which Taiwanese enterprises might be able to enter and develop niches in the Indian market.
The officials of the delegation represented industries such as electrical equipment, electronics, machinery, sporting goods and sanitary equipment. During their tour, they visited the authorities which are in charge of India investment affairs, including those from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as well as the Ministry of Finance. In addition, the group met with state officials, such as those from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. They had full and open discussions on topics such as state development potential, infrastructure, human resource availability, the investment environment and business incentives.
